Jordan has two ideal travel windows: March to May (spring) and September to November (autumn). Both deliver warm dry days, cool nights and perfect conditions for the long walks at Petra and Wadi Rum. April is exceptional — wildflowers across the desert. November is our specialists' favourite — fewer crowds, crisp light, comfortable hiking. Summer (July–August) is genuinely difficult: Petra exceeds 40°C and Wadi Rum is hotter still. January–February can see snow at Petra.
The best months to visit Jordan are March, April, May, September, October and November — warm dry days (18–28°C), cool nights and ideal walking conditions at Petra and Wadi Rum. Avoid July–August (40°C+ at Petra) and January–February (cold in Petra/Amman, snow possible).
