Saudi Arabia is a very large country with sharply seasonal weather. The prime window for AlUla, Riyadh, Diriyah and inland heritage travel is October to April, when daytime temperatures sit at a pleasant 20–30°C and evenings are cool enough for outdoor dining. The Red Sea coast, sheltered by the Hejaz mountains, is usable almost year-round and at its best from October to May. Summer inland (June to August) regularly exceeds 44°C and is only recommended for guests who are travelling primarily for the Red Sea. Ramadan is a moveable spring date and is handled respectfully rather than avoided.
October to April is prime season for AlUla, Riyadh and Diriyah — 20–30°C by day and cool clear evenings. The Red Sea coast (St. Regis Red Sea, Six Senses Southern Dunes, Shebara) is comfortable almost year-round, best October to May. Avoid the interior in June–August (44°C+).

Yes — days are warm (28–32°C), balloon conditions are usually excellent, and the AlUla Moments season opens. Slightly warmer than mid-winter but far quieter.
Overnight temperatures in December–February can drop to 5–10°C in the valley. Pack a warm layer for evening dinners at Elephant Rock and for the pre-dawn balloon flight.
Yes, and it can be one of the most rewarding times to visit. Hotels operate normally for international guests, iftar dinners are exceptional in Jeddah and Diriyah, and daytime touring is quieter. We adjust site timings and dining plans to match local rhythms.
Yes — St. Regis Red Sea, Six Senses Southern Dunes and Shebara are usable through the summer. Days are hot (38–42°C) but villas are cooled and water time is superb. We would not combine a summer Red Sea stay with AlUla or Riyadh in the same trip.
Winter at Tantora is AlUla's flagship arts season — typically December through February — with orchestral concerts at Maraya, illuminated heritage walks and desert culinary events. A strong reason to time an AlUla itinerary for peak winter.
